When Faith Doesn't Feel Good Enough

When my faith doesn’t seem good enough:

We’ve all been through ups and downs and sideways events, trials, and tribulations that seem to just wreak our worlds or literally take the life out of us it seems. I know when my dad got sick, I was taught, Let’s pray, believe and wait and God WILL do the rest. Absolutely the way we should but when I got the phone call, “Your dad is not going to make it…” I struggled, I questioned, I got angry, I felt hurt and went through every single emotion a person could at that moment.

I had so many questions and I didn’t even know how to ask. I told the Lord, “Was my faith not strong enough, did I not pray hard enough, was there something I could have done but didn’t do…?”

And you know what, those questions were totally OK! He, God, is big enough and powerful enough for me to stop end vent and cry and scream because HE IS and Was that day, GOOD! He never promised us that we would be immune from life and its many trials and questions, but He did say HE would never leave me, even when it’s tough and hard and I wanna give up or walk away.

In Hebrews 6:19-20a, Gods promise to Abraham, it says, “This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary. 20 Jesus has already gone In there for us…”

THIS HOPE!

There is hope today for you! The anchor STILL HOLDS. He knows it’s tough. He knows exactly how we will make it through the night… HE STILL HOLDS! Even when we seem to be in the middle of our worst storm and Jesus is asleep on the boat…HE STILL HOLDS….So hold on to him! He will walk with you, even if He calls you out on to the water!

You are on a faith journey, so keep walking, learning, digging deeper, and holding on to Jesus. Remember, it’s the reminder of, “Come to me all ye who are weary and heavy…I WILL GIVE YOU REST!” Every storm will eventually run out of rain…so rest…Hope is here! Oh, and your faith is no less just because it was tested or you had questions. Our father is good….
