The Power of Praise

Written By Miss Macy Riley

We all have so much to praise God for each and every day. The blessings He lavishes on us are innumerable. Yet, so often we get caught up in the daily struggles constant demands, and a survival mindset. Now don't get me wrong, life throws crazy curve balls and we all face harsh storms that can knock us to our knees! The Bible does not say there won't be storms, but it speaks time and time again about the power of praising the Father in the midst of those storms.

Scripture is filled with examples of praise where we see His power released, life-changing miracles, the enemy halted or defeated, and hearts changed and drawn closer to Him. Here are 8 examples of what praise can do:

Praise gets our focus off of ourselves. - Psalm 35:28

Praise brings us to a place of humility. - Psalm 35:18

Praise makes the enemy flee. - 2 Corinthians 20:22

Praise leaves no room for complaining and negativity. - Hebrews 13:15

Praise makes room for God's blessings over our lives. - Ephesians 1:3

Praise invites His presence. - Psalm 22:3

Our spirits are refreshed and renewed in His presence. - Psalm 16:11

It paves the way for God's power to be displayed and for miracles to happen. - Acts 16:25-26

I challenge you not to just check the worship box on Sunday, but set some time aside each day just to praise His holy name! You may not feel like it, you may be weary, you may feel distant, shameful, angry, depressed, or countless other things.

In those hard moments and in moments of pure joy, shout praises to His name! Pastor Wayne says it so often, "If you can't do it here, what makes you think you can do it in heaven!" So start a habit of praise! It will shake and change your life! Praising has power!
