We are usually quick to acknowledge God's power in our life. Maybe He provided for us when we needed it, or maybe He answered a prayer. We also acknowledge the work of Jesus in our life. I know I thank Him often for the grace and mercy He gives, even though I don't deserve it. Without the power of God and the grace of Jesus, our world (and our life) would be in a huge mess. How many times do we stop and really think about our need for the Holy Spirit in our life? The Holy Spirit is our guide and helper. He's our comforter when our world is crashing down. He gives us power, when we are in a situation that we can't face alone. Let's read these scriptures and think about our need for the Holy Spirit.
John 14:26 "But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you."
Acts 1:8 "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere..."
Romans 8:26 "And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness."
John 16:8 "And when he comes, he will convict the world of its sin, and of God's righteousness, and of the coming judgement."
Prayer:
Holy Spirit, we need you more in our life. We need you to lead us and convict us if we are making decisions that would lead us the wrong way. We need your comfort in our lives to face our struggles and hardships. We need your power to help us make a difference for you. Thank you Holy Spirit for coming to live in us. Let us always be aware of our need for you.
