When we pray, we are inviting the presence and power of God into our lives. As we communicate, or connect with our Creator, it opens the door for Him to work in us and through us. It is our lifeline!
Our real life begins when we confess our sins to God, ask Him to forgive us of our sins and invite Him to live in our hearts. This is just the beginning of our journey with Him.
9-1-1 is a call for help. Psalm 91:1 “ He who dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the almighty.” There is no one that we need more than God to help us! He designed us and created us for Himself. He knows us! He chose us! When we pursue Him in prayer (the secret place) He draws us into His presence where we are safe under the shadow of the Almighty!
I think of the old hymn, “What A Friend We Have In Jesus”
What a friend we have in Jesus
All our sins and griefs to bear
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer.
O what peace we often forfeit
O what needless pain we bear
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer.
Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
There is no greater friend than Jesus!
We need to be fueled by prayer every day to be filled with the power of His love!
Prayer:
Lord, I don’t want to run on empty. Fill me with Your Spirit and let my life be fueled by prayer. Help me seek You first in all things, trusting that Your power will sustain me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
